Luz Saúde
Greater capacity and speed for constructive analysis of information.
Challenge
There was a need to report on business indicators and obtain a global view of the Luz Saúde group, namely by collecting, analyzing, transforming, monitoring and sharing data from each hospital unit, both to support decision-making and improve the service provided to patients and to meet contractual requirements. In addition, the group faced continuous growth in the volume of information to analyze. It became essential to work with data from different sources in an integrated, unified way, adding value and fostering continuous improvement, as well as to meet business requirements in near real-time.
Solution
- 400 reports made available
- 900 Oracle Warehouse Builder mappings
- 3 reports supporting the Management Contract with ARSLVT
- 9 people involved
Result
- Greater capacity and speed for constructive analysis of information.
- Efficient response to contractual requirements and audits of the multiple services.
- Consolidated, quality-assured decision support based on an analytical structure as the single source of truth.
- Integration of data from the different source systems in the hospitals.
- Room for constant evolution, both in technology and in extending analytics to other areas of healthcare, for example using late binding techniques to build what-if scenarios and boost predictive analysis.
Business Intelligence projects already existed, notably using Oracle technology; however, the need arose to take a step forward and evolve toward something that, in the future, could provide a group-wide answer within Luz Saúde, adding value to the operation of each hospital unit.

ChallengeWith decades of experience managing health services, AdvanceCare had extensive knowledge of Fraud and Abuse, but needed to move forward in automating and systematizing how it was monitored. The company wanted to analyze a larger number of fraud scenarios through automated processes able to detect more suspicious cases and make them available faster, both to internal teams for analysis and to institutional clients, through a simple, fast Business Intelligence (BI) interface. ResultInsertion and update of around 300,000 records/day. View case -
ChallengeThe miMed application portfolio consists of a set of separate applications that are essential to the business's daily operation. Each of these applications has its own isolated database (DB), which stores all the data generated and recorded in that application. Analysis and reporting relied on report extracts from the production databases, which were then worked on in Microsoft Excel and shared with the teams. As the volume of data generated and the analysis needs grew, the traditional, semi-automated data extraction and transformation processes gradually stopped keeping up with the daily pace of operations. ResultThe solution focused on monitoring core metrics of miMed's daily activity, namely Appointments, Billing, Clients, Specialty Mix and Occupancy Rates. View case
